Sydney Buses On Fire – Natural Gas Ignites

DRIVERS are now refusing to work on approximately 700 Sydney-based gas-powered public buses, after one of the buses exploded into a fire ball caused by a natural gas explosion.

Despite many repeated requests about the incident over the past two months, STA has failed to provide the bus drivers with any detail about what happened.

Sydney government public bus fleet consists of approximately 2500 vehicles, of which 700 are gas powered. Drivers have stopped driving the gas powered buses which affect vehicles at five depots. Their action will disrupt some afternoon services and parents are being advised to contact schools for possible disruptions.

Mr Way said, “union bus drivers remained on the job but would not drive the gas powered buses until they were satisfied the safety issues had been resolved and had there been people on the bus, any people, let alone school children or the elderly, it would have been catastrophic.”

In the case where the Sydney bus exploded in to a fire ball it was luckily the driver got off before it all went up.

As far as the drivers were concerned, they [the buses] unsafe and until they can demonstrate that they are safe, the bus drivers are not going to drive them.

New late night shuttle bus service for Kings Cross

The Kings Cross has always been a place of good times and more for many decades, however party goers have been plagued with the problem of catching a taxi or a maxi taxi to get themselves home.

The Sydney City Council along with the night club owners have attempted to solve this problem by organising a free shuttle bus from Kings Cross to the city. This may work for some, but not (dare i say) the majority, as this only seemed to have moved the problem from one area to another.

So as a part of the Kings Cross Alliance who are trying to assist Kings Cross party goers by working in with Sydney Travel Desk, Sydney City Council and the Potts Point Police to help resolve this issue, to the delight of Kings Cross, Potts Point and Darlinghurst residents by organising a fleet of shuttle buses to operate from Bayswater Road, Kings Cross between the hours of 11 pm to 6 am Friday and Saturday nights with tickets only $35 per person. Shuttle bus tickets will get the patrons all the way home safely to their residents – no hassles, no fuss!

The police force of Kings Cross welcome this new initiative as this will help get people out of the Kings Cross area instead of loitering, especially now after the new drinking laws are in place and now no longer let night club patrons back inside after a certain time allowed by their liquor license.

People arriving to pick up friends or relatives from Sydney Airport can often find themselves paying over $50 once they have bought a coffee a snack and parking.

Sydney Shuttle Bus Cruises down O’Riordan Street

On Monday the 30 th of May at approximately 3pm EST, the skies turn grey and the heaven opened up which lead to unbelievable down pours of torrential rain causing flash flooding and car accidents in many of Sydney’s suburbs. Some area’s recorded over 4 inches of rain in one afternoon.

With such flash flooding, many motorists were caught unaware and found themselves at the mercy of the rising waters with their cars stalled due to the electric components getting wet. Amongst some of those casualties was the VIP Higher Car Services 24 passenger rosa shuttle bus while servicing the South Sydney Corporate Park.

While normal petrol driven motor cars were stalling in the rising flood waters, the traffic behind them were beginning to backup creating a traffic jam that also included the VIP shuttle bus. With the airport shuttle bus left with no where to go, the waters rose above the wheel level. While this normally isn’t a problem as the vehicle is powered by a diesel motor, it seems as though the low placed dual batteries were not so forgiving and caused the shuttle bus to stall along with the other vehicles and requiring the State Emergency Services to come to the rescue.

Apparently VIP Higher Car Services has been approached by P&O Cruise Ships regarding a possible business relationship for a new fleet of cruise ships to sail between Circular Quay and Sydney’s Southern Suburbs. VIP Higher Car Services stated they are still waiting for confirmation from the local council that they were not going to fix the drains so the potential new cruise passages will remain possible.

Sydney Taxi Cab Versus Lamborghini

On the 15th of May 2011 a female Sydney taxi driver has collided with a $400,000 black Lamborghini in Sydney’s west just near the popular cafe strip of Norton Street, Leichhard.

At approximately 2am, the super car had apparently jumped the median strip before colliding with the Sydney taxi. The female taxi driver had been trapped for nearly one hour before emergency services had to cut her free from the wreckage. Apart from a broken leg, the taxi driver had suffered a broken leg from the incident and was in a stable condition.

The 22 year old driver of the super car had remained unharmed along, however his 26 year old male passenger suffered minor chest injuries and was taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment.

Police were asking for witnesses of the accident and it was alleged that one witness said that the driver of the super car was “showing off”.

However anyone reading this would probably doubt that a young driver of an exotic sports car driving along a popular cafe strip would be “showing off”.

Tiger Airways Reviews & Complaints

Tiger Airways have been grounded for all flights effective immediately until the 9th of July 2011.

On Thursday night, Tiger Airways flight A320 from Sydney approached Avalon Airport below a safe altitude level while attempting to land which was it’s second attempt to land. The initial attempt to land at the airport was abandoned to strong tail winds.

Tiger Airways Complaints Reviews – Business doesn’t take off, just like their planes!

Tiger Airways states that they are committed to safety and resolve any issues, but the fact remains that there are issues in the first place and in my own personal instances, my issues weren’t with planes coming in to land below a safe altitude, as they were more to deal with getting on the plane, even though I arrived nearly one full hour before check-in with NO luggage – I simply had to walk on and sit in the seat.

Apparently, a Tiger Airways check-in representative had done a call for anyone flying on that flight who I must have just missed, however I [Steve J.] never expected a “last call” for a flight approximately 50 minutes before take off!

After multiple attempt to state that I had NO luggage to check in and that I had only need to walk in and site down 50 minutes before take off, I was still flatly refused and told that the doors are now closed.

As the story goes, after I was refused to board that the flight and my next available Tiger Airways flight was the next day, it left me with no choice other than that I had to re-purchase a ticket, but this time I didn’t take any chances and bought a ticket with Qantas.

Before long and without to much effort, I had come across many other Tiger Airways complaints that were of a similar nature from people missing weddings through to important business meetings. So I made it my mission to save as many people as possible from this horribly and intolerable airline and if they never take off again, I’ll be a happier person!

I understand that you cannot please 100% of the people 100% of the time, but Tiger Airways procedures and way of handling things is just ridiculous and I don’t say this as slander, but as fact which as been personally experienced and I will NEVER fly with them again
