The Blue Mountains is a wonderland of caves, walking tracks, cafes and sightseeing outlooks. Located approximately 120 minutes from Sydney's CBD via the M4 Motorway. Once at the Blue Mountains, you can start off by visiting one of the cafes before heading out on one of the many treks which wind in and around the cliff tops and faces. The Blue Mountains also boasts the worlds steepest train, as noted in the Guinness Book of Records. Originally a part of the Katoomba mining tramways and constructed between 1878 and the 1900's, it ascends and descends at an angle of 52 degrees with a length of incline of 415 meters through sandstone cliffs just beside Orphan Rock.

In 1788 the Blue Mountains were originally named "Carmarthen Hills" and "Landsdowne Hills" by Governor Phillip, however, it wasn't long after that the distinctive blue haze surrounding the area saw the change in name to the Blue Mountains.

EVERYTHING YOU'LL WANT TO KNOW & SEE ABOUT THE BLUE MOUNTAINS
The Blue Mountains is densely populated by oil bearing Eucalyptus trees. The atmosphere is filled with finely dispersed droplets of oil, which, in combination with dust particles and water vapour, scatter short-wave leght rays of light which are predominately blue in colour.

On the way you will enjoy one of Australia's best loved and awarded wildlife parks. Featherdale Wildlife Park is enroute to the Blue Mountains and breaks up the journey with an abundance of Australia's wonderful creatures from cuddly koalas, sleepy wombats, cheeky kangaroos and well fed crocodiles.

The tarrain and weather in the Blue Mountains can vary greatly so it is wise that you are well prepared with adequate footware, jumpers or jacket should you join us on one of our tours.

THE BLUE MOUNTAINS TOUR ITINERY
DEPART SYDNEY - 8:30am from Central Station (under the clock tower).

FEATHERDALE WILDLIFE PARK - Included FREE within you tour package, this is the first stop along the way where you can get up and personal with some of Australia's unique wildlife.

MORNING TEA BREAK

KINGS TABLELANDS - Only 2km's from Wentworth Falls, Kings Tablelands offer fantastic views which you can enjoy just as the aboriginals did when they used to gather there over 14,000 years ago.

WENTWORTH FALLS - A short trek to lookout over the gorgeous waterfall that dissappears over the edge and into the vast valley below.

LEURA DRIVE - 985 mitres above sea level, Leura Drive features much of the heart of the Blue Mountians with quaint cafes, restaurants and galleries along with some  awe inspiring views.

LUNCH - Included FREE, you'll enjoy a gourmet lunch with complimentary wine or beer.

GROUP PHOTO - Even though there will be many photo opportunities to take along the way, there will be a group photo taken which will be available for downloading and printing.

ECHO POINT & 3 SISTERS LOOKOUT - No visit to the Blue Mountains is complete without visiting Echo Point in Katoomba. Breathe in the fresh mountain air and marvel at the majesty of nature. Enjoy fabulous views over the Jamison Valley, take a short bushwalk to the Three Sisters to see some of the best veiws of the Blue Mountains.

SCENIC WORLD - (1 way included FREE) Ride the steepest incline railway in the world down to a lush and hidden valley! The 415 metre descent will lead you through a cliff-side tunnel into ancient rainforest. From there you are free to explore the Scenic Walkway which will guide you through the forest. You will be able to discover over two kilometres of boadwalk through the rainforest. Take the time to look around and find some fascinating facts about the local flora and history of the valley. Along the way you will also find the Marrangaroo Spring where you can have a refeshing drink of pure Blue Maountain water and then take a break in the Rainforest Room deep within the valley.

RETURN - Arrive back in Sydney at approximately 6 - 6:30pm.
