SYDNEY TAXI SHOOTING

October 21, 2012—A taxi driver in Sydney’s southwest told Bankstown police he had been involved in a shooting outside a unit complex on Fairmount Street, Lakemba.

Multiple shots were fired at the driver’s taxi cab, mainly through the taxi’s passenger side doors.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, which occurred around 11pm. Forensic officers yielded several bullet casings from the area.

Detectives from Campsie Local Area Command are pooling resources with officers attached to Operation Spartan and the South West Metropolitan Region to conduct further investigations regarding the Sydney taxi shooting.
